Shadowed Love

"Jeff, I love you so much." Matt whispered, holding Jeff even closer.

"I love you, Mattie. I really do," Jeff said, burying his face in Matts neck.

They sat like that for a while, just holding each other in a content silence. He sighed, lifting Jeff out of his lap, but wrapping his arm around him. He kissed his temple, then suddenly he felt a weight on his lap. Matt looked down to see Jace's head resting on his thigh, He chuckled quietly, rubbing the puppy's belly.

Jeff smiled at his pup. "He only likes you 'cause I do," he mumbled.

Matt chuckled. "Everybody likes me, Jeffy." He murmured tiredly.

"Youre gonna meet someone who doesnt one day, Mattie. One day," Jeff said before falling asleep.

Matt just snorted before falling asleep along with Jeff.

Jeff started to pant, a thin sheen of sweat coating his body. He gripped onto Matts shirt and started screaming. "Mattie! Mattie, please! Save me!"

Matt immediately awoke, seeing Jeff sweating, panting and screaming. He started shaking Jeff. "Jeff, darlin' I'm here, wake up! C'mon baby, I'm right here!" Matt said trying to wake Jeff.

Jeff bolted upright, tears streaking down his cheeks. He looked around wildly, clinging on to Matt when he spotted him.

Matt held Jeff close, his legs draped over his lap. "Ssh, it's okay. I'm here, it's alright..." He cooed to him softly.

Jeff was hyperventilating, the images in nightmare so vivid.

"Hey, it's okay, no one's gonna hurt you, okay? Breath Jeff, it's okay, I'm here, now breath for me, darlin'." Matt whispered, stroking Jeff's hair.

Jeff slowly got his breath back, the tears slowing down. His body shook slightly, but other than that, he was pretty much calm.

"Wanna tell me what happened?" He asked gently, rubbing Jeff's back.

"Adam... Rape... Bruises... Helpless..." was all Jeff could say in reply.

Matt nodded, understanding. "Jeff, Adam won' get to you, I promise you. I'll fucking murder him if he comes within a 20 foot radius of you, understand?" Matt said, kissing Jeff's temple.

Jeff nodded. His life had done a complete 180 in a matter of a week. He sighed, snuggling closer to Matt.

Matt sighed, feeling stress building up in his neck and leg. He reached in his pocket taking out his pain killers. He opened them. He gasped, dropping the bottle after realizing it was empty.

Jeff looked up. "Mattie? Whats wrong?" he asked hoarsly, voice scratchy from all the crying.

"Jeff... I'm out of pills." He said, his voice barely above a whisper as he was so shocked.

"But... How?" Jeff asked, confused. Matt couldnt have taken that many already.

I... I-I didn't even realize it... I just kept taking them... and taking them... shit Jeff, that was supposed to last me a month, and I went through it in a week and a half!" Matt exclaimed, worried as to how he went through so many Percocets.

"Mattie, calm down. Its gonna be okay. Its not like you're an addict. You've just been stressed. Its gonna be okay," Jeff said, surprisingly calm.

Matt just stared at Jeff incredulously. "A month, Jeff. A whole month a of Percocets, gone. That can't be healthy." He groaned.
