Pity The Child

Kristen smiled wider when Amberlynn's cheeks turned bright red. "Kristy.......you......you didn't...." stammered the blonde teen. "I told you if I managed to find him I'd bring him to you," said Kristen. Amberlynn's blushed only darkened. "John....I......you......you're......here....in...in my house....with me....I...."

John chuckled. "Yes, sweetheart. I'm here. A little birdie told me you were a fan of mine." He said, taking her hand gently and kissing the back of it. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Amber." He said with a smile.

Amber smiled, but her smile faded slightly. "I wish......I wish I could see you...."

"I know, sweetie, I know. Believe it or not... I know how it feels." John said softly.

"You do?" Amber asked softly. "How.....if you don't mind me asking of course."

"I'll tell you, darling." John said and sat down next to her on a couch in the room. "There's a lot the WWE doesn't leak about it's Superstar's. One of those things is I was actually an elite gymnast in my early 20s. At Nationals, the competition before the Olympics, I had an accident. I was paralyzed from the chest down and went temporarily deaf." John told the young girl.

Amber nodded slowly. "I knew there was a reason I felt so.....connected to you."

John smiled softly. "And that's why I had to come see you. The best Doctor's in the world said I would never walk again. But I proved them wrong. And now I get to travel and perform every week and do what I love. You have to promise me, Amber, that you won't give up. That no matter what anybody says, you keep going and doing what you love and living your dream."

Amber nodded. "I promise John, I won't give up, I promise."

John smiled. "Good. Now, I wann give you something. If your a fan of mine, and I know you are, you know I collect sunglasses..." He said and slipped off his most prized sunglasses with the diamonds of his head and placed them in Amber's hand. "Those are my favorite pair of sunglasses. And I want you to have them."

Amber smiled. "John....I...." she paused. "Thank you, for everything."

John smiled and kissed her cheek. "Of course sweetheart. I'll try and come again... if you don't mind." He said with a slight chuckle.

Amber nodded. "It would be nice, maybe daddy would shut up about you."

John nodded. "I heard about your father. And whatever he said about me... well, he doesn't know me. I love my fans, and I love meeting my fans. All the WWE Superstars feel the same way. We're like... one big family. We feel connected with our fans. People like you remind me why I wrestle in the first place." He softly.

Amber nodded and sighed softly. "Daddy just cares more about Parker than me."

John sighed. "I know how that feels. My mother always favored my twin sisters over me. Every chance she got, she picked them over me and treated them like royalty. My Daddy always defended me though." He said softly. "You and me, we're a lot alike, huh?"

Amber nodded. "I guess we are." All the while, though she couldn't see it Amber's sightless gaze kept falling on the piano. Much like John always had to fuss with his appearance Amber constantly needed to preform or be around music in some way.

John smiled. "How about.... I play the piano, and you sing. Sound good?" He asked. John played the piano... could've been a professional pianist if he wanted. But sports always called louder to him than the arts. But he still had a grand piano at his home, and played from time to time.

Amber smiled. "I'd like that, I'd like that a lot."

John nodded. "Good. Now what do you want me to play?" He asked as he sat at the piano.

Amber thought for a moment. "Kristy, do you have the music for that on song Anatoly sings in Chess, the the on Svetlana turns around on him later?" Kristen smiled. "I have the book for the entire musical for you sugar," she said, opening the book to the song Amber wanted and handing it to John.

John set the book up and skimmed through the music before he started to play, his fingers flying over the keys perfectly as h listened to Amber sing.

John smiled as he hit the last note. "Amber, you truly do have an amazing voice." He said when they finished.

Amber blushed. "Thank you, that means a lot coming from you."
