High School Mistakes Bring Second Chances

"She loves you to death y'know," Samantha said. "Always has."

Jeff didn't know how to respond to that. He just met her and he loved her more than he thought he could love anyone.

Samantha looked over when she noticed Hailey stir, tiny eyelids slowly fluttering open. The small child looked up and Jeff and smiled sleepily. "Daddy," Hailey said softly.

Jeffs heart skipped a beat and he smiled widely.

Hailey smiled, snuggling close. "Daddy makes a good pillow."

Jeff chuckled. "I've been told," he said, smiling down at her.

"How'd you get me daddy?" Hailey asked. "Momma find you now?"

Jeff smiled lightly, looking up at Sam. "Yeah, momma found me now," he said.

Samantha smiled. "Told you I would sweetie." Hailey nodded. "Glad, daddy comfy."

Jeff laughed again. He looked down at her, seeing that she really did have his eyes

Hailey looked up, smiling brightly at him. "Love you daddy."

Jeff smiled widely. "I love you, too, baby," he replied, kissing her forehead lightly.

"Daddy gonna stay now?" Hailey asked. Samantha really hoped his answer was yes, not only for Hailey's sake, but she wanted to try to have a relationship with Jeff again.

Jeff smiled at his daughter. "Of course. How could I leave you?" He replied.

Hailey leaned up to wrap her arms around Jeff's neck, hugging him as tightly as her small, weak body could manage.

Jeff hugged her back, closing his eyes. She was beautiful and he couldnt believe she was his.

Samantha looked around and rolled her eyes. "How long can these idiots take?"

Jeff looked at her. "What idiots?" He asked.

"They're supposed to be sending someone to help me get the bags to our room," Samantha replied.

"Ill do it. Randys expecting me but Im sure he'll understand," Jeff told her.

Samantha nodded and smiled. "Thanks Jeff." She tucked a bit of hair behind her ear. Even after all these years, he still had the same effect on her.

Jeff smiled. "Of course. Do you want to carry her?" Jeff asked.

Samantha chuckled softly, smiling at Hailey. "I don't think she's gonna let go of you anytime soon."

Jeff chuckled. "If you go in my pocket and pull out my phone, Randys speed dial 1. Im sure he'll help," Jeff said.

Samantha nodded, grabbing the phone. She didn't know why, but she was slightly nervous.
