Pity The Child

John puled out three tickets. "I got three tickets to see Rent on Broadway. Front seats... I thought you needed something to cheer you up." He said.

Amber's eyes widened. She'd heard the original Broadway cast was reuniting for a 15th year anniversary show. Now she was going to be there. "John! thank you thank you thank you!"

John chuckled. "Your welcome, doll. Now, you and Kristy make yourself at home, I gotta go make a call." He said and left the two girls, going into his room to call 'special friend.'

Kristen and Amber went off to the music room.

John had a less than pleasant phone call with his 12 months long boyfriend, Matt Hardy. And here Matt was, breaking up with him over the phone. John hung up, dropping his phone and bursting into tears. He curled up on his large, king bed and sobbed. He had been in love... and now he wished he'd never been in loved. He cried long in hard into the pillow, his heart hurting.

After a few minutes Kristen wondered where John was, so decided to go check on him. She knocked on the door. "Johnny?"

John doesn't hear Kristen. He just keeps letting the tears flow. He had been so in love... and now it hurt so bad. He let all the pain in tears, the pillow soaking them up as he sobbed.

Kristen gently pushed the door open and wheeled over to the bed. "Johnny what's wrong?" she asked gently.

"M-Matt... dumbed... m-me..." John whimpered between sobs. "I-I love h-him..." He cried, tears coming harder into his pillow the more he thought about Matt.

"Oh Johnny...." Kristen said softly, pulling herself onto the bed. "C'mere little brother, c'mere."

John moved close to his big sister, curling up to her. "I-I love him so m-much..." John cried quietly, sniffling slightly.

"I know honey, I know," Kristen murmured, rubbing John's back.

John whimpered, wiping his eyes and sniffling. "S-Sorry... I'm c-crying all over you..." He said, grabbing a tissue and wiping his eyes, and hoping Amber hadn't heard his hysterical sobbing.

"It's okay Johnny," said Kristen. "That's what big sister's are for." Amber soon appeared in the doorway. "John?"

John jumped when he heard Amber's voice. He looked up then looked down and quickly tried to wipe away the tears, but they kept coming. "H-Hey doll..." He said shakily, his voice quivering.

Amber walked into the room. "John what's the matter?"

"N-Nothing..." John murmured. But he couldn't hold it back and began crying all over again. He curled his face in his pillows as he sobbed, not wanting Amber to see him like this.

Amber sat down next to John. "Johnny, you can talk to me," said Amber. "II'm your friend remember?"

John nodded slowly and sat up. "M-My boyfriend broke up with me..." He whispered, shakily wiping his eyes, trying to get the tears to stop. But they wouldn't.

"Then he's an idiot," said Amber simply. "He doesn't know what he's missing."

"B-But I loved him... He said that I wasn't good enough..." John whimpered, a few more tears falling down his cheeks.

"He's the one that isn't good enough," said Amber. "You deserve better than that."

John scoffed and shook his head. "No I don't. I've... Let's just say I'm not the best at keeping my legs closed." He huffed, laying down and running a hand through his hair. "No wonder he left me... I'm a hot mess..."

"You're human Johnny," said Kristen as Amber nodded in agreement. "If he doesn't want you for you, both the good and the bad, then you don't need him."

john sighed and nodded slowly. "Okay... but I'm still sad." He whimpered, his eyes watering again. Maybe they were right... but John was still in love.
