Pity The Child

John's mind wandered to that girl. He wondered if she was right... Yeah right, John thought. If he had a sister, his Mommy and Daddy would have told him. And yes, John still called his parents Mommy and Daddy.

Kristen sat looking through the papers until she almost fell asleep at the kitchen table. She knew a DNA test could settle it all, but would John agree to it?

John was driving back to the hotel... when his car broke down. He growled. He just wanted to go to his hotel and sleep. He tried looking under the hood, but he knew nothing of cars. He saw a row of one level apartments on the the side of the street. He knocked on one of the doors, hoping someone would let him use their phone. So he knocked on the door, not realizing it was where that wheel chair girl who claimed they were related lived.

Kristen snapped out of her half sleep and rolled over to the door. She was shocked by who she saw at the door. "Oh.....um.....hi John...."

John blinked. "You're everywhere, aren't you? Anyway, my car broke down. Can I use your phone?" He asked, leaning his weight on one foot as he played with a strand of his hair.

Kristen nodded and rolled out of the doorway so John could come in. "It's in the kitchen."

John nodded and walked swiftly into the kitchen. He fought with AAA on the phone for a long time. They claimed they didn't send tow trucks out this late at night, and John scream dat them for being such a sucky insurance company. "Fuck you!" He snapped and hung up. He looked at the girl. "Sorry about that Miss." He sighed, plopping down on a couch. "Now I gotta walk 50 block to my hotel through the pitch black..." He muttered to himself.

"I could take you if you want," offered Kristen. "My car is right outside."

John blinked. "You sure? I don't wanna bother you or anything." He sighed, crossing his legs and playing with a strand of his hair again. It was a habit.

"It's not a problem John, really," said Kristen. "You worked your ass off tonight, you don't need to walk all that way when I have a perfectly fine car right outside."

John smiled slightly. "Oh yeah, you were at the show... And your the girl who claimed I was your brother." He said, crossing his arms.

"It's not just a claim John," said Kristen. "What do I have to do to prove that to you?"

John sighed. "Look Miss, I've had many fangirls claim they were related to me. BUt they were all crazy. But... since you don't seem crazy, and you sound very serious, I'll do a quick DNA test." He said, flipping his hair. "But you better not be wasting my time, though." He snapped.

Kristen nodded. "Believe me, I'm not wasting your time," said the brunette woman, rolling into the kitchen to get herself a cup of coffee.

John nodded tiredly, sinking down into the couch, fighting to stay awake. He was so tired, from his attack from R-Truth. He just needed some sleep

Kristen filled her thermos and rolled toward the door. "C'mon, let's get you to the hotel before you pass out on my couch."

John was already passed out, fast asleep on the comfortable couch. His eyes were closed, hair falling in his face as he snore softly.

Kristen smiled softly and grabbed a blanket out of the hall closet to cover John with. It wouldn't hurt to let him stay there that night.

John awoke the next morning, laying on a couch. He groaned and hid his face under the blanket, shielding himself from the light.

Kristen was already awake, rolling around in the kitchen getting ready to start breakfast.

John got up, stretching and wondered into the kitchen, sitting at the table. "Sorry I crashed on your couch." He murmured, still half asleep.

Kristen shrugged. "It's not a big deal," she said. "Want anything?"

John shrugged. "Got an fruit? I have strict diet." He sighed, resting his head on the table, ready to fall asleep again.

"I think I still have some fruit salad made yesterday in here somewhere," said Kristen. "Haven't been able to dance in years, but I still eat like I did back then."

John smiled tiredly. "I know the feeling..." He said, eyes closed. And John did know the feeling of being paralyzed. He knew it all too well.
