Pity The Child

Kristen nodded, sliding a bowl of fruit salad over to John. "I miss it," she said softly.

John sighed and started to eat after he thanked her. "How did you end up in a chair?" He asked, eyes on his food as he ate.

"I was in an accident during my off time, fooling around with some friends at the lake, water was more shallow than we thought." said Kristen.

John nodded. "I know what it's like to loose a career..." He said, the words slipping out before he could stop himself.

Kristen looked up. "What do you mean?" She didn't mean to pry, but she was interested.

John bit his lip. "I-It's a long story and I don't wanna bother you with it. Plus I get emotional and I don't think you want me crying all over your kitchen able." He said nervously.

Kristen nodded. "I understand if you don't wanna talk about it," she said. "But if you do, I'm here, if it turns out we're related I want you to be able to talk to me."

John nodded. "Well we should go get that DNA test done then." He said, finishing his breakfast. :I'm sure there a clinic around here somewhere..."

Kristen nodded. "Not far from here, I know this area pretty well."

John nodded and stood, stretching his limbs. "Alright. Ready to go?" He asked, running a hand through his hair.

Kristen nodded, grabbing her keys. "If you're ready, I'm ready."

John grabbed his sweatshirt, quickly fixed his hair before walking out next t Kristen, following her to her car and sliding into the passenger seat.

Kristen wheeled her chair into the driver's seat area. "Shouldn't take long to get there."

John shrugged. "Kay." He said simply. He shouldn't be wasting his time with this, but whatever. His plane didn't leave until tomorrow and he had nothing to do in his hotel room anyway. He needed a man...

Kristen just nodded, making the short twenty minute drive from the apartment to the clinic.

They arrived at the clinic, John snapping in his usual demanding-diva fashion at one of the workers. "I want a DNA compatibility test. And I'm not waiting." He bitched at the woman, who nodded and hastily led them to a room, afraid of the long haired man' wrath.

Kristen followed behind John and the woman, chuckling softly. "Geez John, rude much?"

John shrugged. "I;m the biggest Diva in WWE, and the locker room knows it. I just so happen to have a penis." He snickered. "But I'm not a tranny, by the way."

Kristen just shook her head. "Never said you were, never said you were."

John chuckled. "I know. But people assume..." He said. He opened his mouth, the nurse taking a swab of his DNA from the inside of cheek. "

When the nurse was done with John, she took the swab of Kristen's DNA and left the room.

John sat in a chair, crossing his legs and adjusting his sunglasses. He was impatient, and didn't wanna waste his time here. They weren't related... right? John was an only child. He knew it. He didn't even know why he was here in the first place...

Kristen was spending the time she had to wait texting all her vocal students, cancelling lessons and such.

John got up out of his chair and paced. John did many things when he was nervous. He paced... because he couldn't sit still. He played with his hair... because he needed to touch something. Or he had piss... because his kitten bladder was seemingly always full when he was nervous. And right now, he was nervous as hell.

Kristen kept running her finger over the tread of her wheel, it was a nervous habit she'd picked up.
