My Kinda Party

"My Mom is an asshole..." John muttered. "I love her but I just wanna... smack her sometimes." He sighed. "But me and my Dad are close. I'm like... the male version of Daddy's Princess." He chuckled.

Carter nodded, uncomfortable with the subject of parents.

John looked at Carter. "Sorry... I know parents is a sore subject." He said, fixing the plates of ribs. He set the plates on the table sitting outside and sat down. "Tell me if you like them." He said.

"It's okay about parents, not all are like mine were..." Carter said as he took a bite, "These are really good."

John smiled. "Thanks. I don't usually cook ribs, so I was afraid you wouldn't like them."

"I'll like anything yeh do," Carter smield.

John chuckled, shaking his head and started to eat. He was so, amazingly in love with this man...

Carter smiled, "So, have yeh been thinking bout where yeh want the weddin'?"

"Well, since it's small... I was thinking... Italy." John said.

"Italy?" Carter smiled.

John nodded. "Yeah, my family is traditional Italian, and I'm fluent in five languages. So yeah, Italy." He said with a smile.

"Five languages, wow." Carter marvelled. "I only speak English and Hick."

John blushed. "Yeah... Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Japanese." He said.

"Yeh can do it all can't yeh?"

John chuckled, blushing again. "Not everything... but I try." He said softly. All he really wanted was to make his lover happy, and if that meant he had to do it all...

"Yeh know, sometime yeh should let me cook fer yeh. I make a mean potato salad." a smile crossed Carters lips, "Whattya say we go on a picnic sometime this week?"

John smiled brightly. "Yeah, I'd like that. The last time I went on one was with my Daddy, and I was 14." He said. "I know a secluded spot on the beach we could go to."

Carter smiled, "What day do yeh wanna do it on?"

John shrugged. "Maybe in a few days. Saturday. Before we have to go." He said with a smile. "Did you know I've always thought of someone proposing to me on live TV?" He chuckled, speaking his random thoughts.

Carter smiled, "Really?"

John nodded. "Seems silly, but I kinda always wanted someone to.... show off that they have me, ya know?" He asked, picking at his food.

An idea raged in Carters head, "Isn't silly at all."

John shrugged again. "If you say so. But it's not like its ever gonna happen. No one's ever had the guts or heart to do something like that for me."

Carter had to suppress a smile, "I...I dunno what to tell yeh..."

John nodded, not suspecting anything. "Yeah... you got any weird or silly fantasies?" He asked, raising a brow.
