Aftermath

"That's not a good idea... but I can't stop you." John sighed, standing up, groaning quietly at his knee. "I need... to workout. I wonder if there's a place with gymnastic equipment around here..." He wondered aloud.

"Yeah, thanks for all the concern." Heath should know better, should have known better than to get attached or expect anything in the way of fluffing or caring from Johnny, but to hear him just so casually switch the subject back to himself while the stitches hadn't even dried, it was a little painful. "I'm sure you'll be able to find a gym around here somewhere. Just ask."

John nodded. "You need help with anything?" He asked, genuinely wanting to help Heath. He knows he can sound a little self centered sometimes, but he's really not an arrogant person. He just can't help it sometimes.

"I'm still a little whacked from all the painkillers," Heath admits. "Would you mind just.. sticking around for a bit, till I nod off at least?" Heath has always prided himself on being the life of the party, the guy everyone remembers... but when it comes to stuff like this, to asking for something for himself, he's just plain awful at it. "Please?"

John smiled softly and sits down in a chair next to Heath's bed. "Of corse, darlin'." He said, crossing his legs and checking out his nails. "Need anything else, just holla." He added.

"No, no, don't need anything else," Heath murmurs, his eyelids already starting to feel heavier. The last words slip out as he's half asleep and he's not even aware he's saying them, "Just you, John."

John's heart warms. He reaches out, putting his hand over Heath's, and watches him sleep.

Heath settles into a deep sleep, still holding on to Johnny's hand. A contented smile twists up the corners of his mouth, even in his slumber.

John smiles and scoots his chair closer, resting his head on Heath's bed next to his shoulder, closing his eyes and drifting off.

Heath's not sure when he awakens, but he has to admit that seeing John there, still with him, melts his heart a little. He ignores the pain and scoots a little closer, their heads so close, it's like they're sharing the same air. He stays like this for a while, as he feels himself starting to doze off again. "I love you too," e murmurs, half asleep.

John hears him, but he doesn't wake up. A single tear slid down his cheek from his closed eyes. He nuzzled closer, and slept more peacefully then he ever had.
