Aftermath

John chuckled. "I speak French, and that was all wrong, but I love you anyway." He said. "Now go check on your dog." he said, pushing Heath off the bed and pointing to the door.

"Nah, he's fine. He knows damn well I can't sing worth a damn."

Sure enough, a couple of seconds later, Buster goes silent again.

John chuckled, and started to sing the Corre theme song better than the actual artist. "I've had enough , I'll make them see, they'll never take another drop of blood from me... Your Judges fault, their final bow, I'll be your end of days..." He sang perfectly.

Heath looks at him a moment, then claps.

John chuckles. "Well, I like to sing every now and again... But I'm not much of a rock person, I'm more of a Sinatra person." He said.

"Ah, so you're gonna wine, dine and serenade me some night?" Heath smiles, cuddling up next to him, yawning.

John smiled. "Yes, as a matter a fact, I will." He chuckled.

"Mmm," Heath murmurs sleepily. "Something to look forward to."

At the last moment, he shuffles back to his feet, shutting the door so the dog can't get in, then cuddles up against Johnny. He's a lot more worn out than he's been letting on. This week off probably couldn't have come at a better time.

"You'll need the sleep... you're meeting Daddy tomorrow..." He said, his leg wrapped around Heath's waist as he fell asleep.

Heath almost immediately drops into a deep sleep, almost grapevined around Johnny, just wanting to be close to him.

John awoke a few hours later, Heath almost on top of him. He tried to move him but he wouldn't budge. "Heath, ya gotta move... c'mon I have to piss." He whimpered, trying to move Heath off of him but he couldn't.

Heath grumbles something incoherent in his sleep, pulling away and turning on to his other side, his back to Johnny. He tugs the blankets around himself a bit more.

John lets out a breath, getting up and going to the bathroom to relieve himself. When he's done he went back and cuddled up to Heath again.

Heath snuggles back against him, perfectly content to have Johnny's chest pressed against his back. Even in his sleep, it's strangely secure and comforting.

John woke up before Heath at around 5 pm. He sighed, getting up and going into the kitchen, feeding Hunter and petting him for a few minutes before going back to sit with Heath on the bed. He was still dressed in nothing but Heath's button up shirt, and didn't plan on taking it off till he had to.

Heath rolls on to his other side, smiling. "Time is it?" He murmurs, still more asleep than awake.

John smiled. "Dinner time. I go cook, you chillax." He said, getting up and bounding back into the kitchen to make dinner.

Heath grumbles softly; the bed was just not as warm and inviting as it had been a few minutes ago. He supposes he ought to join him.

Buster ambles into the room, sits on his usual mat, barks his usual bark and offers his usual paw.

John sighed, and couldn't help but feed the dog a few scraps of meat, making sure to keep his usual distance. As he cooked, he sang, not realizing Heath was in the kitchen with him.
"Fly me to the moon

In other words, baby, kiss me..." He sang flawlessly.

Heath simply leans against the doorframe, not wanting to announce his presence yet. He likes this moment. Considering he's only known Johnny a short amount of time, Heath is surprised at how quickly this has all become normal.

Heath kept coming to mind with every word he sang.

Heath smiles slightly, but he figures he should announce his presence; he doesn't want to startle Johnny after all. He clears his throat.

John turned around, smiling when he saw Heath, but kept singing and cooking.
"Fill my heart with song

All I worship and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words, in other words
I love... you..." He finished.

Heath walks over, brushing Johnny's hair forward and kisses the nape of his neck.

John smiled softly when he felt Heath's lips on his neck. "You enjoy the show?" He asked as he cooked over the stove.
