By the Light of the Neon Moon

Frankie laughed softly, well there went the idea for things to talk about on the way to Kevin's place. Phil smiled at the soft kiss and nodded, "Okay, be careful okay?" He said before giving a soft kiss.

Kevin nodded and smiled. "I will I promise. There isn't much out there that can get me. Just watch out for those two jokers, they will tell lies on me." He laughed softly before kissing Phil again. "I'll see you in a bit." With that he was gone, mingling in with the rest of the employees and then slippping off into the night for a bite.

Phil watched as Kevin left before finishing his drink and turning to his new friends. Jay smiled and asked, "Ready to go?" Phil smiled and nodded and the three took off from the bar, talking and laughing. Phil told them some of his stories about high school and they told him about their adventers together.

Kevin hunted quickly and effiencently, drinking from multiple people to avoid from draining one person completly. Full and relaxed he hurried back home, his fast footfalls silent on the pavement.

He felt eyes on him the closer he got to home but he ignored it, he wanted to see Phil as soon as possible.

Frankie and Jay smiled as they arrived at Kevin's appartment, "Well we should be going now, most likely we shall see you tomorrow." Frankie said as Jay waved good night. Phil smiled and waved before walking into the appartment and sitting on the couch to wait for Kevin.

At the door to the apartment something swooped past Kevin and he turned quickly, crouching as his eyes peered into the darkness. When he didn't see anything he straightened up and shook his head, dismissing it as a nighttime animal. With a grin he let himself into the building and made quick work of heading back to the apartment.

He fit his key into the lock and opened the door quietly, slipping in and putting his coat and bartending apron on the chair by the door before seeing Phil on the couch. The ravenhaired man looked to be about asleep so Kevin leaned down and whispered in his ear.

"Ready for bed Phil?"

Phil smiled sleepily, "Yeah.... How was your bite to eat?" He asked as he slowly got up, his body finally not fighting sleep now that Kevin was back safe. He leaned in and kissed Kevin's cheek to say hello to his lover and slowly started towards the bedroom.

Kevin grinned. "It was fulfilling. I had enough to last me for at least three days." He pecked Phil's cheek, murmuring lowly. "And I didn't kill, I don't I take a little from different sources, leaving them alive....if a little groggy about what happened."

Kevin nipped Phil's ear lightly. He didn't know why he felt the need to explain but he felt he had too, that it would please Phil to know that while he was with a nightwalker that he didn't have to fear for his life. Once they reached the bedroom, Kevin picked Phil up and carried him over to the bed; laying him down on it and then curling up next to him, his fingers shifting through the dark locks.

"So, tell me my dear Raven. What lies did my two friends pass about me?"

Phil gave a tired smile as he curled close, enjoying the fingers in his hair. "They really didn't say anything....: He laughed softly, "I think you scared them out of telling earlier, they mostly talked about the how the three of you met and how they had became mates.... They really seem to ncare about each other."

Kevin laughs as he nods. "Yes, that is one thing I can say, Jay and Frankie have a very loving relationship, even by Vampire standards. We don't hold much in regard, but a bond--a true soul bond--is revered and taken most seriously. Two vampires combine powers when they form that bond. Sometimes bondmates are made because of powers that are perfect matches, other intellect, but loving soul bonds are the rarest of the rare."

Kevin laughed again as he palmed his face. "They told you that they met me a few days after my turning and what a sorry mess I was? I couldn't even hunt, I was half starved, all wild and full of anger over what had happened. I thought they were going to kill me, but instead they took me in, taught me the basic rules and have been by my side ever since. You really can't ask for two more loyal people than Frankie and Jay."

He smiles down at Phil and kisses him softly, murmuring against Phil's lips. "Sleep. I don't need it right now, but you do. So close those eyes."

"They are lucky to have that type of bond....." Phil said softly, "Love for humans seems to pale in compairion.... It seems rare that love lasts for most people..... Or that people have lost sight of what is true love...." He blinked tiredly. "I once that i had it with colt but now i realise it was a pale imatation of the real thing.... You." He closed his eyes and curled in closer.

Kevin rubbed his hand up and down Phil's back as he listened to him sleep and he idly wondered if it was possible for a human and Vampire to bond. The closer to dawn it became to sleepier he became and as the sun broke through the windows he fell asleep, curled around Phil protectively.

Phil slepted soundly, feeling safe and secure in Kevin's arms. He woke some hours later feeling well rested and happy, he smiled softly as he looked at his still sleeping lover. He found himself losing track of time as he watched his lover sleep.

Kevin wasn't a heavy sleeper, in fact just some movement tended to bring him awake instantly and Phil shifting on the bed was no different. Add the fact that kevin could feel Phil's eyes on him and it was enough to have him fighting hard to stay still and let Phil look his fill at him.

Phil finally curled close again but didn't fall back asleep. He sat up at a knock on the door, he wondered who it was. He hadn't told any friends or anyone he worked with that he was going to be moving. He figure that it was either Frankie and Jay or someone Kevin knew.

The knock though soft was enough to roust Kevin out of bed and he stretched as he climbed from the bed, not bothering to put a shirt on or lounge pants--his boxers would have to suffice and if they didn't, well whoever knocked came to him not the other way around.

Grumbling he opened the door and scowled as he leaned against it. Standing out in the hall stood Dirk, one of the daytime bartenders and if he was standing there it meant that Kevin was going to have to go in and more than likely work a double.

"Thorn, man..I'm sorry. The night just got reworked, just you and those two you vouched for have jobs. Calaway found out the others were robbing him blind and he fired them all. He sent me down--"

"I know, I know." Kevin dismissed Dirk with a wave. "You can tell Calaway that I'll be there as soon as possible ok?"

Dirk nodded and dropped his voice even though there was no one to hear him and even if they did no one would care.

"I heard that Calaway might be making an assistant manager soon."

"If I had a dollar every time he said that or someone told me that I'd own that bar by now. I'll believe it when it happens."

Dirk laughed and waved goodbye, leaving Kevin scowling in the doorway. With a sigh he headed backed to the bedroom and faceplanted onto the bed, grabbing Phil and pulling him close, mumbling against his neck.

"I have to go into work, my boss fired everyone but Frankie, Jay and I. Means lots of late days and doubles."

"Damn that must suck......" Phil said softly curling close, "We won't be able to see each other a lot lot will we...?" He sighed, he knew it was something that Kevin was going to have to do for his job but he was still a little upset at the idea. He was close to giving a very childish pout but he was trying to hold it back.

Kevin shakes his head even as he kisses Phil's lips. "No, we won't. Unless you start just hanging out at the bar. However if I know old Mark, he'll have the bar restaffed in about a week so it won't be too long. Besides Mark knows that I won't tolerate my life being tread on too long."

He pulls Phil to him and kisses his temple, rubbing his hands over Phil's arms. "And don't pout, I'm not supposed to have a weakness, yet if you do that I might not be able to resist you..."

Phil nodded before kissing Kevin's cheek, "Good, i would hate not getting to spend a lot of time with you for to much time." He said before kissing him softly. Jay grumbled with a pout as Frankie woke him up with the news of the new double shifts.

Kevin growled a bit as he pulled Phil close. "Well that would never happen." He sighed as he got up from the bed. "But for now, I have to get to the bar and get things ready for tonight." He leaned down and brushed a kiss across Phils' lips before straightening and getting dressed, shooting Frankie and Jay a text before heading to the bar for the night.

Phil sighed softly before realizing he had to get ready for work as well and he got up to getchanged and to have a quick bit to eat before work.

Frankie and Jay were getting ready for work when they got the text and texted back and heading to the bar.

Kevin scowled as he surveyed the bar. It was in ruins; broken bottles and glasses strewn across it and puddles of alcohol warping the wood of the bar top. Chairs were smashed and it was all that Kevin could do not to rip his hair out. In the corner tittering nervously were the two new hires that Calaway had hired that morning. They didn't look older than 18 so Kevin didn't even feel easy with them being there but help was help. With a sigh he palmed his face.

"Well get your asses over here and start cleaning. I want the glass put in a dishwashers tub and for the love of god be careful, I don't know what you might have and I don't to contaminate the place." He grouched. And I don't want to have to police myself because I can smell your blood and need to eat.

When no one moved he yelled, his eyes sharp. "I SAID MOVE IT! WE HAVE TO HAVE THIS DONE BY OPENING TONIGHT!"

He watched with a smirk as they scrambled into position, each one practically shivering as they cleaned. Once he was sure that they were working on their own he started to clean up the puddle of booze, snarling to himself when he realized that it wasn't even the cheap stuff that was laying there but it was the most expensive that they had in the club.

Frankie and Jay walked in and looked around in shock, "What the happened here Kev?" Frankie asked as he looked around before righting a fallen table, he shook his head as he looked at the damage. "Careful Jay-Jay i don't want you cutting yourself." Frankie said as Jay started to pick up some of the glass.

Phil arrived at work and sighed, he hated opening the shop alone. He quickly got to work and got everything ready for the day.

Kevin scowled hard as he looked at the mess. "I don't know, but I would hazard a guess that the ones that got fired decided to make a royal mess of things before they took their leave. So now we have to get this all ready to go before tonight opening."

As much as still needed done he knew that with Frankie and Jay there it wouldn't take them much time to get it all done. His main worry was the two new kids that were still shaking in their boots when they looked at him and whether or not they were going to injure themselves on the broken glass.

"Lets get this going so we can at least have some semblance of normalcy come opening tonight. Frankie, on the bar in the corner is a list of the alcohol that we need replaced, they're in the stock cooler can you get them for me while I take stock of the glasses and other glass things that I have to bring to the bar?"

Frankie nodded and got the list before heading to the back and starting to get the stuff they need for that night. Jay worked on the glass and soon had it all picked up and was sweeping the rest. Frankie started to carefully bring the bottles up, smiling softly when he paused to watch as Jay was working.
