I See You Not

"Name's Adam. And we're supposed to watch him. Strap that maniac down if he has a fit int he middle of the night. And you better hope he doesn't go into the Catacombs. Little bitch will get eaten alive." He smirked.

"As I previously stated, he will not be going anywhere that I do not approve him going," Nolee said, "And you will no longer be taking his corridor."

Adam clenched his jaw but relented, afraid of the young woman. "FIne..." He grumbled before going back to his break. He was not about to disobey the woman, afraid of her wrath.

Nolee sighed, running a hand through her hair. After all she was only a woman, a young woman at that. She had ran from the man who she was supposed to wed, Robert Conway, to come to America to be a doctor. She headed into the doctor's quarters, showering before laying in her cot with her journal writting out about John.

John slept without any fits, thankfully. He he didn't sleep peacefully, but it was enough for John. He awoke the next morning, a couple rays of sun come through his tiny, barred window. He was starving. But the nurses fed him only once a day, twice if he was good. And three meals was unheard of. He sighed and curled tighter up on his bed. He glance up at his tiny window. He sorta wanted to go outside. But the doctors would never let him.

Nolee showered in the morning, putting on a new dress and jacket. She picked up the matress that she had slept on the night before after packing her purse full of food and her clip board and a fresh jumpsuit. She dragged it down to John's room and opeened the door, dragging it in. "Morning! I brought you a comfier matress, breakfast, and fresh clothes."

John jumped, startled. He pressed against the wall. Never scare a patient. He shook a little, and it took a couple minutes for him to calm down. He looked at the items. "What are those?" He asked quietly.

Nolee smiled, "A better matress to sleep on, food to eat, and a fresh change of clothes. Plus my clipboard, that's mine though. I like to record the things we say to each other. That way I never ask a question twice."

John nodded slowly. "Oh." he said quietly. He wasn't used to this. Kindness. He was a little afraid of it and in his mind, he didn't really get it.

Nolee smiled, "Those mean men didn't bother you last night did they?"

John shook his head slightly. "No." He whispered. "But I saw them... those faces..." He whispered.

"You never did tell me what faces you saw," Nolee kindly said.

"The victims... their victims." John murmured quietly, looking down at the dirty floor.

"Whose victims?" Nolee asked again, wanting John to tell her the answer. Perhaps it was a part of why he was like this, why he was here.

John simply pointed to the swastikas engraved on the door of his cell. The Nazi sign was carved on every cell door in the asylum.

"The Nazis..." Nolee trailed off, memories flashing behind her eyes. She had not had a run in with the infamous monsters but her brother, who had been in the French army at the time, had been killed by them. She hid her tears from John, "They won't hurt anyone ever again. Who carved that in there?"

"They did... the bad faces... they put them in here..." John whimpered, burying his face in his knees which were always pulled up to his chest.

"Bad faces..." a lightbulb went off in Nolee's head, "JOhn, do you mean the doctors who put you through electroshock therapy?"

John whimpered. "Bad faces... 120005, 110030, 11003... I-I... no more... I-I can't... they... I stop.. no..." He started murmuring before he screamed and thrashed on the bed. He clawed at his head as many voices and whispers screamed at him. "No! Stop it!" He screeched.
The doctors and guards heard and rushed in, pushing Nolee out of the room. The took out the shackles and chained John down to his dirty bed, locking him to the metal frame. He kept screaming a thrashing, eyes rolled in the back of his head. But the doctor's were more concerned on shutting him up for the time being.

Nolee stood outside the door, listening to the screams. She had to help this young man. There had to be something that she could do to help him. As the doctors walked out, she saw the head doctor walk towards her and instantly knew she was in trouble. "Sir, I'm sorry but I was doing what you all hired me for. Trying to make the patient better."

The doctor glared. "Sending him into a fit is not going to make him better. He's scheduled for shock therapy tonight." He growled. "Until then, he'll stay in that room, chained down so he can calm and you are to leave him alone."

"Unless I am mistaken what you told me was that I am to be his new doctor. I am to deem what he will and won't go through. And I saw that the shock therapy is to be cancelled!" Nolee huffed. "Who is the superior here?"

"That's McMahon but he's not available right now. Good day." He said and walked away.

John had eventually calmed down. He laid on his bed, the cold shackles biting at his wrists and ankles. He shivered. He didn't like being chained down. He whimpered, wanting to curl up but not being able to. He hated this. While being insane, he still had feelings. Emotions. Fear and pain being two of them.

Nolee sighed, shaking her head. She needed to talk to the superiors. She walked to the doctors office, head hung, memories of her brother flooding back.

John pulled at his restraints. He was uncomfortable in this position. He whimpered and closed his eyes. He hated being here.
