Life As We All Knew It

"He's got the flu so we're gonna have to keep him here. But he should be fine," the doctor said.

John nodded and let out a breath. "Are we allowed to see him?" He asked.

The doctor nodded. "Of course," he said and led them to the room.

John walked into the room, sitting next to Randy's bed and sighing. "You need to stop scaring me like this." He said, taking Randy's hand in his.

Randy smiled weakly at him. "I'm sorry," he said hoarsely.

John smiled softly. "Just get better..." He whispered, kissing his hand.

Randy nodded. "I will," he said with a small smile.

John let out a breath and sank back in his chair. "By the way, Gianna's getting a Ferarri for her birthday." He chuckled, glancing at his daughter.

"That's nice," Randy said tiredly with a soft smile.

Gianna smiled widely as she looked at her parents.

John sighed tiredly, resting his head on Randy's bed next to his hip. His eyes closing as he felt hands stroke his hair.

"Go relax, Johnny. This is normal for people with HIV who get sick. I'm fine," Randy said, stroking his hair gently.

"Come on, Mommy. I'll take you home," Gianna said, pulling at John.

John sighed and kissed Randy's cheek. "Love you." He said tiredly before he let Gianna pull him to the car. He handed her the keys and her license before he sank back in the passenger seat, ready to pass out.

Gianna drove John home. When they got there, she looked at John. "Do you need help getting upstairs?" she asked.

John shook his head. "I think I'll be fine." He said tiredly. HE sluggishly walked into the house but he looked at the stairs and groaned. "Gianna!" He called, having no energy to make it up on his own.

Gianna chuckled and jogged to catch up with him. "Come on," she said and helped him up the stairs.

John leaned on her as he walked into his bedroom. He passed out the minute his head hit the pillow, snoring quietly.

Gianna chuckled and went to her room, pulling out her homework.

John was fast asleep, though a bit restless. He wanted his lover....

A few weeks later, Randy was home again. He was still feeling a bit of the effects of the flu, but was otherwise okay.

John walked into the bedroom, smiling softly at Randy. "You need anything, baby?" He asked softly, sitting down next to him.

"No," Randy mumbled, half asleep.

John sighed. "Go to sleep, baby." He whispered, gently pulling Randy to his chest.

Randy fell asleep, listening to John's heartbeat. He didn't want to tell John yet. He didn't have long left.

John gazed at Randy. He was so scared of losing him... when Randy was gone, John truly didn't know if could survive without the man laying next to him.

He woke afew hours later, feeling a lot better. "Gahhh," he yawned Amd stretched.
