Life As He Knew It (Open)

Randy smiled, walking up to John and wrapping his arms around him. "Yes I was, babe," he said with a smile, kissing Johns neck lightly.

John smiled softly. "Sorry if I was singing to loud. I made you breakfast." He said, gesturing to the the plate of food he put together for Randy.

Randy looked at the food, smiling and kissing Johns cheek. "You're amazing, you know that?" he asked, sitting down to eat.

John chuckled, bending down and kissing Randy's cheek. "I get told sometimes." He said, before going to clean up the kitchen. For some reason, he just wasn't hungry. In fact, he felt full.

Randy looked at John when he didnt sit down to eat. "You gonna eat?" he asked with a mouthfull of food.

John chuckled. "I'm not that hungry, I'll eat something later. Now close your mouth and chew like a human being!" John scolded playfully.

Randy chewed his food and swallowed. "I was chewing like a human being, thank you very much," he said.

John just rolled his eyes, going back to cleaning up his contemporary kitchen. "By the way, Randy... I took this adorable picture of you last night..." He chuckled, thinking of the picture

"Okay. Do I get to see it?" he replied, finishing his meal.

John smiled, grabbing his phone off the island and pulling up the the picture, showing Randy the picture. "Damn, who knew you could be so fucking adorable." John chuckled.

"Its an acquired skill," he chuckled, rolling his eyes at the picture. "Are you gonna make that your background now?"

John chuckled. "Maybe..." He said. He then groaned, his hand going up to rub his upper left abdomen, it was really starting to hurt. He bit his lip, sitting down in a chair and tried to will the pain away.

"Baby, are you okay?" he asked, corcern etched in his features. "Whats wrong?"

John just whimpered, pulling his knees to his chest and wrapping his arms around his upper abdomen. "I din't know... It's been hurting a lot lately... ever since you gave me mono." He said, coughing slightly.

"You're going to the hospital. Lets go. And dont argue with me," Randy said, going to the bedroom, getting dressed and grabbing clothes for John.

John just whimpered at the pain, not bothering to even object as Randy dressed him. "Randy... hurts..." He said quietly, cradling his abdomen.

"I know, baby," he said, picking John up as he finished dressing him, bringing him out to the car. He got in, driving well over the speed limit to get to the hospital. When he got there, he picked John up, running into the hospital. "I need some help!" He yelled and several nurses ran over to help him. They took John, bringing him into a room but Randy had to stay in the waiting room.

John whimpered and cried, wanting Randy. He heard the doctors say something about an enlarged spleen, but he was too tired to get anything else. They put him under anesthesia, and he slowly felt himself slip into unconsciousness.

Randy paced in the waiting room, wishing they would come and tell him something, anything. He growled, sitting down and putting his head in his hands.

The Doctor walked into the waiting room, searching for Randy. "Mr. Orton?" The man called out.

Randys head snapped up. "Thats me. How is he? What went wrong? Is he gonna be okay?" he asked.

Th Doctor sighed. "Well, he definitely has mononucleosis, which would explain his coughing and swollen throat. But sometimes, especially in men his age, mono can be accompanied by splenomegaly, or just enlargement of the spleen. That explains the sever pains in his upper left abdomen. Luckily, his spleen hasn't ruptured. The spleen will heal on its own, so long as he gets plenty of rest and absolutely no contact sports, for if the spleen ruptures, that's when it becomes fatal. I understand that Mr. Hennigan travels a lot, and I can allow that, so long as he doesn't wrestle and gets plenty of rest. Oh and, you can see him now... he's been asking for you." The Doctor finished.

Randy smiled. "Thank you," he said before running into Johns room, sitting next to him and taking his hand. "Hey, baby."

John smiled brightly when he saw Randy. "Hey baby! So what'd the annoying doctors say? Can I still travel with you?" He asked hopefully.

Randy smiled. "Yes, you can. Thank God. I dont know if I coulda gone that long without you and I cant take too much time off right now. Stupid storylines," he muttered the last sentence. He really hated his current storyline.
