By the Light of the Neon Moon

Phil slept deeply as Kevin returned. He hadn't slepted well in the past few days. Phil woke a few hours later, and slowly got up. He went into the bathroom, he slowly realised he wasn't at his apartment. He slowly remembered what happened the other night, he wondered if Kevin was awake.

Even though Kevin himself didn't need to sleep that much he pretended to be just waking up when Phil peeked into the room. He blinked his eyes and stretched, smiling at Phil as he ran his fingers through his short hair.

"Morning Punk." He teased as he climbed from the bed and moved towards the door; stopping to peck his lips before moving past. "You hungry?" He called over his shoulder as he headed to the fridge. "Or are you in a hurry to get somewhere?"

"Morning Thorn." Phil replied with a small smile. He watched as Kevin walked to the kitchen. "Yeah i'm a little hungry, and no i don't have to be anywhere till my shift in a few hours." Phil answered. He wondered quietly in the back of his mind, what happened now? Was the night before just a one night stand? Was it something more?

Kevin grinned as he turned away from the fridge. "You have a preference? Or are you like me and just eat the first thing you run across?"

Thankfully the wording was vague enough for him to get away with it and he turned to look at the cabinets; acting as if he was thinking about something but in reality he was just taking a moment to save the picture of Phil standing in his living room/dining room area in just his tshirt.

Kevin couldn't deny the warmth that Phil had inspired in him but he wasn't sure if he could continue a relationship with him; after all he was sure that Phil would notice one day that he didn't eat with Phil and when he did that it would a rare steak as rare as he could get it.

With an other brilliant smile he turned back to Phil.

"You're welcome to hang you here if you like Phil; I don't go into about 12:30 pm."

Phil smiled and answered. "I'm a first thing edible and looks good i see kinda guy." Phil noticed that he felt comfortble around Kevin in just his tshirt. Phil was slowly realising he was falling into love, very quickly with Kevin. He'd only had known the man for a few hours but he could feel it. Phil smiled back at Kevin. "Thanks, my shift isn't untill 12."

Kevin grinned and opened up his cupboard, pulling out a box of cinnomin Life and a bowl. He turned to the fridge; calling over his shoulder.

"Do you take milk on your ceral?"

Phil pushed the distracting thought from his mind before smiling and nodded "Yes please." Phil sat down at the small table in the kitchen. He shivered softly as his bare backside hit the chair and he tried to remember were he's left his pants.

Kevin finished the bowl off with a healthy dose of milk and set it down in front of Phil, taking the seat across from him. He studies the man's features for a moment and his initial feeling of wanting to see him every morning in nothing but a tshirt returned. Of course that thought was ridiculous. Sooner or later Phil would find out that he wasn't normal and the whole thing would go up in smoke. And Kevin was fond of him already so he'd hate to have to turn him into another meal to silence him.

"Thanks." Phil said with a smile as he picked up a spoon and started eating. Phil took a bit as he quietly studied to man acrossed the table. He still felt draw to him, he'd knew felt like this before even when he thought he loved Colt.

Kevin smiled. "No problem Phil." He got up from the table and walked past Phil, leaving a kiss to his forehead before heading into his room to get dressed; calling over his shoulder. "Make yourself at home Phil, I'm going to get a shower. If you're still hungry there is more ceral in the cabinet over the sink."

Phil flushed slightly as Kevin kissed his forehead. He watch as Kevin walked to his room, before forcing himself to focus on the bowl in front of him. Phil soon finished eating and took his bowl and spoon to the sink and started to wash then out so Kevin didn't have to worry about them.

Kevin heard the water running and he laughed a bit as he pulled his clean shirt over his head. He'd never had someone rinse out a bowl before after using it; of course he'd not that many overnight guests that weren't meals either.

Still the action made him warm on the inside for some reason and he stood in the door way of his room and watched Phil move, almost taken by the desire to pin him against the counter and give him a good bout of morning sex to start his day off.

Phil didn't here Kevin watching him as he finished washing out his bowl. He turned around and jumped slightly when he saw Kevin watching. "Hey hope its ok i washed it out." he said. Phil was starting to be glad his shirt was long.

Kevin snapped out his daydream and nodded, moving into the room and gathering his things for the day; placing his bartending waist apron on the table by the door and checking his leather jacket that he'd worn the night before.

"That's fine Phil, I didn't mean to stare; it's not often that I've had someone over that's cleaned up after themselves. You took me by surprise there." He laughed as he cleaned out the numerous slips of paper that phone numbers from men and women alike; tossing them into the trash.

Phil nodded, "Well i like to clean up after myself, leaving a mess feels weird for me." Phil said with a shrug. He'd been the neat one in his relationship with Colt, not that his ex boyfriend had ever appreciated the hard work. Phil looked down at the hem of his shirt. "Umm do you know where my pants ended up last night?" He asked with a slight blush.

Kevin blinked and chuckled, looking around for a moment before finding the missing the clothing hanging off of the couch. He moved over and plucked the pants up and handed them to Phil laughing slightly.

"Sorry about that."

Phil was still blushing as he slipped his jeans on. "Thanks." He said softly. He looked down at his left hard, looking at the tattooed fingers that read 'FREE'. He wondered what happened now, he wondered if Kevin felt the same connection.

The awkward silence set in and Kevin rubbed the back of his head. He wasn't sure what to say or do at this point; he felt some sort of connection with Phil but he wasn't sure if the young man felt it as well and there was nothing worse than thinking there was something there only to be told that there then wasn't.

"So..ah..we should do this again some time?"

The sentence was halting and Kevin couldn't help but blush a bit; he was severely under equipped to deal with the morning after situation and he was sure that Phil would take offense at his wording.

"Errr, well....what I mean is we should make time, and go out some time..maybe, if you want too."

Phil nodded. "Yeah sure i'd love too." He said. "Here let me go you my number." Phil grabbed a piece of scrap paper from his jeans and quickly wrote down his home and cell numbers. "Here." He said as he held the paper out to Kevin with an almost shy smile.

Kevin grinned and took the scrap, folding it and sticking it in his pocket with a grin. His let his hand linger for a moment though before pulling it away and he hoped that the smile on his face was one that was meant to be on the face of a man that was looking to set things up for something more permanent than a one night stand.

"And you always know where to find me Phil. It seems l live my life in that bar so it's very rare for you not to see me back there swatting hands away from the other more drunk patrons." He winked and grabbed Phil's wrist and pulled him close; whispering against his lips with a purr. "Of course if your hands want to wander, I won't be doing any swatting....unless you want me to turn that pretty little ass of yours red."

He pulled away from Phil only the barest touching of lips and looked at the clock; his mind completely filled with the dark haired young man. With a grin he touched Phil's face softly.

"I think one of us might be late Punk...what time did you say you had to be at work again?"

Phil breath hitches and he barely holds back a slight blush at Kevin's words. Then he looked at the clock as well. "Shit i got to go, my shift starts at 12. And my boss is going to kill me i'm late!" Phil as when he saw the clock said 11:30. He pressed a quick, soft kiss to Kevin's lips before he ran towards the door.

Kevin chuckled and shook his head, touching his lips as he leaned against the frame. He had no idea where this was going with Phil but he wasn't going to do anything to jepordize it.

Phil ran to the tattoo shop he worked at, but his mind stayed on Kevin. He wondered where they were going to go with this, all he knew was he felt a strong connection with Kevin. Phil decided to go back to the bar tonight to see Kevin again.

Leisurely Kevin finished getting ready for work; he wasn't worried about being late; the boss knew he could count on him so he was given a lot of leeway when it came to actually coming in. His mind wasn't quiet and he weighed the pros and cons of starting something permanent with Phil. On the one hand he had the connection with the dark haired man that was like fire to his soul; on the other he'd have to continually hide his true self and life in the shadows.

Granted he did that anyways, but he didn't have to worry about keeping his secret in his own home. As he walked through the door to the bar he waved to the day crew and took his spot behind the counter, starting to count out the till needed for the night shift and hoping a bit that Phil would come see him.

After he had finished work, Phil had gone back to his apartment and changed. He put on his good jeans and a clean short sleaved shirt. He combed his hair out before looking in the mirror and deciding he looked ok. Phil grabbed his wallet and cell before grabbing a hoodie and leaving his apartment. He walked over to the bar and walked inside looking for Kevin.
