New Digs

Heath is sitting in the club, at the bar, his back to all the dancers around him. He needed a break from the Corre's routine. As much as Wade and Justin were like family, he just needed some space tonight. He needed something different.

Having heard that some of his fellow superstars were hitting this particular joint tonight he'd gone along, hoping to find some company. Now, watching most of his colleagues get wasted and grind on each other or random bar skanks, the redhead is starting to remember just why he prefers the company of Wade and Justin. And to think he'd even busted out best clubbing clothes for this.

Heath flicks the cuff of his shirt. It's a black button up shirt with shimmering red threads interwoven throughout, making new patterns in the shiny fabric each time it's hit by the light. He's got on a pair of new black jeans as well. Now they'll reek of smoke for weeks.

"Yeah, fuck this." Heath mutters, paying for his drink and starting for the door.

"Hey hold up there broski!" A voice called as they rushed over.
It was the voice of the Long Island Iced Z himself, Zack Ryder. Zack was in a black t-shirt with blue khaki pants and his usual headband as he smiled at Heath.
"Don't bail so soon bro. Why not hang with me for abit?" Zack offered.
He wasn't exactly the most popular superstar out there, but Zack was well-liked on Youtube and Twitter, so he figured that had to count for something.

Like a character in a movie, Heath glances over both shoulders, figuring the Internet champion is talking to someone else. In fact, he's quite surprised to be the one holding Zack's attention. Hell, since he's with the Corre, he's used to people assuming he doesn't want to hang out with anyone other than them.

Heath shrugs and takes a deep breath. For a second he's about to refuse, but then he realizes that this is kind of what he came here for. He wanted to hang out with new people and Zack definitely isn't like anyone else he knows, so why not? He grins. "You know what? Sounds good." He runs a hand through his long red hair, mussing it up a bit, but not minding.

"Sweet. So how ya been man? Corre working out well for ya?" Zack asked, making light conversation as they walked back towards the bar.

Speaking of The Corre, Zack was surprised to see Heath without Justin, Wade or Ezekial, not knowing The Corre had kicked him out previously.

Still Zack was glad to have found one of the guys to chill with, even if it wasn't one of his usual bros.

Heath shrugs. "Eh, they're doin' all right. I just needed a breath of fresh air, naw mean? Needed a little space tonight, couldn't stand to keep doin' the same thing." He shrugs. The last thing he wants to do is get bogged down talking about the Corre... or even much wrestling tonight. "How about you?"

He fusses with his hair again, shaking it out. some more. "I was gonna see if there are any other clubs in town; this one really isn't my speed."

"That's cool. Glad to hear it bro. Personally I think Wade's a bit overbearing, no offense." Zack shrugged.
The last thing he wanted was to offend Heath somehow.
That simply wouldn't do.

Heath has to laugh; "You don't know the half of it, man." Hell, he's said worse to Wade - seriously and in jest - to his face. Well, since he's sticking around here with Zack, he might as well grab something else to drink. "You thirsty? First round's on me."

"Just get me a coke." Zack replied, not necessarily in a drinking mood at the moment.
He wanted to keep his mind clear if he could help it.

Heath nods. "Fair enough." He orders Zack's drink and, feeling impish, an iced tea for himself. He's got an early flight tomorrow, and there is damn near nothing worse than flying hungover.

He leads them to one of the overstuffed lounge seats, giving them a full view of the dance floor. While the music, some wordless thudding dance beat, isn't really his thing, Heath's happy to see some of his coworkers having a good time. Though he could definitely have lived the rest of his life without seeing the Bellas hanging all over Dolph. That was ... just not pleasant. He gives an exaggerated shudder, then turns to face Zack.

"So what's a party animal like you doing with a guy like me?" He asks, nudging him with his elbow teasingly.*

"Eh, none of my usual bros were around. Cena's out celebrating his win tonight." Zack replied.
He had actually wanted to get to know Heath for awhile, but never had the chance because they wrestled on opposite shows.
So he would make damn good of this chance.

Heath arches an eyebrow. "You and Cena are pretty tight, huh?" Honestly, he's been rather interested in Zack for a few weeks now. That webshow of his absolutely cracks Heath up with every episode. And despite working for the same company, he's just never had much opportunity to hang out with Zack. Hell, his time is usually occupied travelling with the Corre anyway.

He accepts his iced tea from the waitress with a grateful smile, unaware of the blush that rises up in her face.

"Oh yeah, we hang out backstage all the time. Have you seen my webshow? Cena loves it, bro." Zack answered proudly.
His show had quite a big following, so he figured he deserved to brag as he sipped his coke.

"It is pretty damn funny, man," Heath admits with a laugh. He glances around, still not all that impressed with the place. "This this only hotspot in town?" He asks idly, propping his feet up on the empty chair next to Zack.

"I don't know bro. It's the only one I've seen." Zack replied.

"Hmm," Heath sips his drink. "Well, this place isn't doing it for me. How about we talk a walk, see if something strikes our fancy?" He flashes Zack a mischievous grin.

"Good idea. So any idea when they'll let you go solo? Just curious." Zack replied.

Heath shrugs. "I'm in no particular rush, naw mean?" He sets down some cash for his drink, then heads for the exit with Zack. "I'd rather stick with the guys for a while and spin my wheels rather than strike out solo and wind up with nothing to do." He laughs. "At least those two are entertaining."

The city isn't all that big, but the nightlife is definitely lacking, at least until Heath spots a sign written on a board across the street. He glances over at the blond with a mischievous grin. "Karaoke?"

Zack grinned equally as mischievously. "You are so on, bro."

Heath arches an eyebrow. "Care to put a wager on it?" He says as they make their way towards the bar. "Person who gets the most cheers..." he trails off, wanting to see what Zack comes up with for the bet.

"Loser has to kiss the winner." Zack smirked.

"That's not fair," Heath smirks, putting on a cocky front. "No matter who loses, you win." Smacking Zack playfully on the arm, Heath heads inside. The place is rustic, a little worn down, reminiscent of the clubs in his home town. He drops into a chair. "You first."

"You sure about that man?"

"No," Heath said.

"Well why don't you go first then?"
