Once Bitten, Never Shy

Evan smiled, "Carter! You're okay!"

Carter laughed, "Of course I am little one."

Jay smiled "You ok little one?"

Evan pouted, "I'm getting a cold!"

"It will be gone by tomorrow little one i promise." Jay said softly.

"I didn't know vampires could get colds..."

"Its the only thing we can get." Jay said with a soft laugh.

"You can get broken arms too," smirked Carter. "Remember I broke Adam's arm..."

"Yeah but we heal very quickly." Jay said.

Carter smiled, "Where in the world can we go that yer sire ain't gonna find us?"

"I have some friends in North Carolina who are vampires who can help us." Jay answered.

Carter smiled, "That's a long drive from here. It'll be a few days..."

Evan smiled, "Are they nice vampires?"

Jay smiled and nodded "Matt and Jeff are very nice vampires."
Alex sighed "Yeah but it'd keep papa Jay-Jay safe."

Carter looked at Alex, almost angrily, "I can keep Jay Jay safe. Yeh worry about Evan."

Alex bowed his head at Carter's anger, something inside him realised he was trying to offer to protect another's mate.

Carter frowned, "Sorry Lexie...I just...I feel really protective over Jay..."

Evan smiled, whispering into Alex's ear, "I bet they are mates..."

Alex chuckled softly and whispered back "I think your right kitten."

They drove for three days, resting in abandoned buildings during the morning and driving after having eaten at night. Finally Carter saw the city limit sign for North Carolina. He looked over at Jay, lightly shaking him, "Jay, where do yer friends live?"

Jay woke up "Umm oh a small town called Cameron."

Carter nodded, "Go back to sleep. I'll wake yeh when we get there."


Nolee lazily swatted at the fly buzzing around her head as she and her pack, a group of werewolves, walked around the park in Nashville. Her mate, the alpha Wade Barett, was talking with two of the other members, Justin and Heath, while a big silent man, Ezekial Jackson, scanned the park for intruders into their territory. Taking a big whiff of the air, Nolee's eyes narrowed, "There's a vampire around here..."

Jay nodded and closed his eyes again.
Adam cockily walked right into the packs territory.

Carter kept driving, every now and again stealing a glance at where Jay slept with Alex and Evan curled into either side.



Wade fumed, "Vampire what are you doing in OUR territory! You know that the supernatural laws forbid you from stepping foot into a wolves territory without permission! Do you wish to test my men?"
Ezekial stepped up, looking at the vampire as he morphed into a wolf. He beared his teeth, snarling as he went into attack mode.

Adam grinned darkly before grabbing the wolf as it jumped at him, pushing it against a tree and ripping its thoat out."

Finally, after a few hours, Carter was in Cameron. He shook Jay once again, "We're in Cameron..."


Nolee whimpered, seeing how easily the vampire took out the biggest member of their pack. Wade held his mate, looking at the vampire, "Who are you and what do you want from us?"

Jay blinked as he woke up before telling Carter were to go.
Adam grinned "I want help getting whats mine back."

Carter drove to the house, "These must be good old southern boys..."


Wade growled, "And whats that?"
