Nocturnal Encounters

*Heath is having a blast at the club. It's aweseome knowing that his place isn't too far away, he can sleep in his own bed tonight and to top it off, a bunch of TNA dudes are hanging out. Everyone's getting along great and even though he hasn't really worked with any of these guys, it's like an extended family reunion. So he's out, having a ball, dancing with anyone who'll join him on the floor, generally being the life of the party.*

*Winter''s gaze never strays far from Slater. The vibrancy, the full of life character... it appealed to her. Though they did not work together, perhaps one...evening's enjoyment would be enough to sate her newfound craving. She slinks over to the bar, where Heath had left his drink. Unnoticed by Slater's companions, she adds her special blend to his drink, then glides effortlessly back towards the exit. Mission accomplished, she simply waits.*

*Heath heads back to the bar, knocking back his drink and ordering another. But after a few minutes, he has to sit down on one of the bar stools, pinching the bridge of his nose. It was as if someone cranked up the lights and the music all of the sudden.*

*Heath rests his elbows on the bar, closing his eyes, trying to block out the lights. Figuring he's had enough, he carefully swings back around, opening his eyes, grunting and putting a hand to his temple. It's like he's looking at world from under water. Everything is hazy and distorted beyond recognition. The music is like sludge in his ears, slowed to nothing and unidentifiable. It feels like he's drowning.*

*In fact, the only thing he can really see clearly are two piercing blue eyes staring at him. He stumbles towards those eyes as if following a life preserver. Now that he's got something to latch on to, Heath doesn't want to let go.*

*Winter smiles coolly, beckoning him closer with a long, curved fingernail.*

Alex smiled as he took another drink, it was nice to hang out with the other guys. Alex glanced around the room before stopping to watch his best friend Chris and his girlfriend Velvet, he chuckled as he watched them act all lovey dovey. He wanted to throw up sometimes at the two of them but he was glad for Chris. Alex noticed his drink was ematy and sighed before getting up and going to get another. As he made his way to the bar he bumped into somebody "Sorry."

Heath doesn't react, his face as cold and blank as Angelina's has been over the past several days.

Winter leans against the railing at the top of the stairs, never taking her cold gaze off Heath. She would have him for tonight, after that, who knew? She idly wonders how many people would miss him. Maybe he'd be worth the risk.

Alex frowned at the blank look of the mans face "Hey buddy are you ok?" Alex asked as he placed a hand on his shoulder. Alex started to worry when he didn't get a respose and asked "Dude is something wrong?"

Heath stumbles back a step, holding the bridge of his nose.

Winter frowns. Her new target isn't as pliable as Angelina yet, so she cannot assert her will from a distance. She heads down the stairs and walks through the people, ignoring anyone she happens to knock out of the way. She turns her cold, angry eyes on to Alex. "We were leaving now." She puts her hand on Heath's shoulder and starts tugging him out of the club.

Heath hesitates for a few steps before he starts going with her.

Alex frowned "Dude you don't have to go with her." he said as he gently touched Heath's shoulder again "Come you look like you need to sit down." Alex said as he started to guide Heath to a seat.

Winter starts to snarl something unpleasant, but she's distracted by a familiar blond figure. Angelina must have followed her in here. Snarling, she goes after the other woman, intent on protecting her from any harmful influences.

Without the forceful guidance of Winter, Heath turns to a new voice in the fog, following Alex into one of the booths. After several minutes, he winces and pinches the bridge of his nose. "Aww man, I feel like hell. What happened?" He leans back against the blush seat, closing his eyes.

Alex gave a friendly smile "You had a run in with the wicked witch of TNA my friend." he said with a soft chuckle before interducing himself "Hi i'm Alex Shelley."

"Wicked Witch?" He echoes, wincing. "Man, I feel like I got run over by an eighteen wheeler, one wheel at a time."

He clears his throat, ordering a bottle of water from the waitress. It takes him a few seconds to process the words. "Heath, Heath Slater, pleasure to meet you."

Alex smiled and nodded "Nice to meet you dude." he said as the waitress bought Heath his water "So do you work for TNA man or are you a local guy?" Alex asked curiously.

Heath runs a hand through his hair, then shakes his head. He's still trying to clear the cobwebs out. "No," he murmurs. "No, I'm with WWE. I gotta night off, and live close by, figured I'd have a few and call it a night. Who the hell was that?" He knocks back about half of his water in the first few gulps.

As it hits his system, he starts to feel much better, a lot more like himself. "Man, that was weird as hell." He shakes his head.

"That was Winter, the crazy pycho bitch that works at TNA." Alex answered as a waitress bought him another drink "Though i'm a little confused i thought she was only interested in bugging Angelina." Alex murmered softly to himself, before shrugging and turning his attention back to Heath.

Heath flashes him a bright grin, flicking his hands through his hair. "Hey now, who can resist the One Man Rock Band? I can't help it if I'm irresistible."

Alex laughed and smiled "Yeah but you proably get all the pycho's too don't you?"

"Hey man," Heath laughs, ordering himself another water; after what happened earlier, he doesn't really want to drink any more hard liquor. "Gotta take the good with the bad." He breathes out slowly. "That was just damn weird. How about you, Alex, how are you doin' tonight?"

Alex smiled and said with a chuckle "I'm doing good but i'm wondering if i'm going to get my best friend to spend five minute away from his girlfriend."

Heath glances over, following his line of sight. "Well hell, looks like they're getting kinda hot and heavy." He shrugs. "Well, I'm not really in the mood to be clubbin' anymore. Wanna hit my place and grab a pizza or something?"

Alex grinned and answered with a nod "Sure sounds great dude."

"Awesome, c'mon now, I'm only a few blocks from here." Heath pays for his drinks, then starts outside with Alex.

It's a nice, pleasant night and for once, the humidity is manageable. Heath is glad he'd straightened up his place. He hadn't really planned on bringing anyone home, but it was a force of habit to clean up before going out.

Not that he was planning on doing anything with Alex; sure the guy was cute, but Heath has no idea what team he plays for or if he's even interested. So far as he's concerned at the moment, it's just two new friends hanging out. If it turns into anything else... well hell, he's always game for that.

Alex smiled as he followed Heath, he looked at Heath out of the corner of his eyes. Heath was cute but Alex also wasn't sure if Heath was into guys or not, Alex was very careful with picking up guys espeally after that guy that beat him up for hitting on him.

Heath keeps up a steady stream of conversation on the way back to his place.

His apartment is clean, with only a coffee cup on the counter being out of place. Though the cup is adorned with one of his so-called 'goofy' faces. Wade had gotten him the mugs as a gag present, but Heath didn't bother throw them out. They were funny and made him chuckle whenever he used one, so why not keep them around?

"Can I get you something? Another beer, somethin' stronger?" He heads to the fridge, grabbing a beer for himself. "How do you take your pizza, man?" Heath leans against he doorframe.

"Beer is fine thanks." Alex said with a smile "And i'm ok with anything on my pizza."

"Awesome, man." Heath gives him a thumbs-up, then dials for the pizza from the kitchen, returning with an opened beer for Shelley. "So, what's TNA like? I never really got to work there. An agent checked out one of my matches, but then WWE started calling and," he shrugs, sipping his drink. "Rest is history I guess, right?"

Alex smiled as he took a sip "Tna is fun, i work with some really awesome people and i work with some of my closest friends. Plus i get to tag with my best friend and sometime i get to work over in Japan which is really fun." Alex said before asking "So whats it like working for the WWE man?"

"Actually, a lot of the same. Tag champs with my best friend, gettin' on TV every week, I got no complaints. Well, I wish I wouldn't get punched in the face by Big Show every week. That kinda sucks. It's just so weird how the others become like you're family. I mean hell, you see everyone on the road six days out of the week, it's weird. But it's also nice to talk to people outside, too, you know?" He smiles brightly at Alex.
